Bad month or so in NC Higher Ed

There has been a veritable tidal wave of bad news pumping out of higher education institutions in the state of North Carolina in the last month or so.

Obviously the one with the most media coverage is the Mary Easley story, taking place at NC State University in Raleigh.  The situation ultimately cost Easley her job and did the same for nearly a hand full of other high-ranking NCSU administrators.

But, there is also the horrible case of Frank Lombard, the Duke University administrator charged with a really horrible crime.  And most recently Ashley Postell at UNC-Charlotte, charged with three counts of embezzlement.

I don’t have a lot to say about these cases, other than it’s rare to have so many higher education administrators constantly in the news for crimes and bad behavior.  Let’s hope things come in threes on this one.
